Help with Grapho, the monotonic Greek keyboard for iPhone and iPad.
Add the keyboard
Open the Settings app, then tap:
- General
- Keyboard
- Keyboards
- Add New Keyboard
- Grapho
Then, in any text field, touch and hold the globe key and choose Grapho. The Grapho app’s home screen has a button that opens its page in Settings, where you tap Keyboards and turn on Grapho.
An app that was already open when you added Grapho may not show it until you close the app and open it again. This is how iOS works for every keyboard.
Typing accents
- Automatic accents
- Type a word without its accent and press space. When only one spelling fits, Grapho adds the accent: καλημερα becomes καλημέρα.
- The accent key
- Tap ΄, to the left of the space bar, then the vowel. Touch and hold it for ¨ and ΅.
- Long press
- Touch and hold a vowel, slide to the accented form you want and let go.
- The second accent
- Before μου, σου, μας and σας, a word stressed on the third syllable from the end takes a second accent: το όνομά μου.
- Final sigma
- Type σ everywhere. At the end of a word it becomes ς when you press space or a punctuation key.
Common questions
Grapho changed a word I meant to type as it was
Press backspace once, right after the change, and your word comes back as you typed it. If you undo the same correction twice, the keyboard learns the word and stops correcting it. You can also save the word in the Personal Lexicon (Grapho Pro).
How do I make the keyboard forget words it learned?
Open the Grapho app, tap Personal Lexicon, then Reset Learned Words. The keyboard forgets them the next time it opens. Your saved words stay.
Where are the settings?
In the Settings app, under Grapho. The Settings row on the app’s home screen takes you there. You can choose how much autocorrection does (off, accents only, or accents and typos), and turn typeahead, autocomplete, automatic capitals and the double-space period on or off.
Why doesn’t Grapho ask for Full Access?
It doesn’t need it. Everything works on your device, without the network. See the privacy policy.
Grapho Pro
Grapho Pro is a one-time purchase that adds the suggestion bar (the next word, the rest of a word, both spellings when the accent changes the meaning), typo correction and the Personal Lexicon. To unlock it on a new device signed in to the same Apple Account, open the Grapho app, tap the Grapho Pro card, then Restore Purchase.
For refunds, Apple handles every App Store purchase: use reportaproblem.apple.com.
